My Approach to counseling is aimed at aligning with the Client’s desire and goals. I believe we as wonderful human beings know what we want, but often lack the tools to achieve our own goals. Through therapy and behavior modifications I believe we can allow all things to strengthen us.

Sandra Fields,

Licensed Professional Counselor/Mental Health Provider

Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider/Certified Clinical Trauma Professional

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Mental Health Service Provider in TN, USA with over 35 years experience working with a wide diversity of clients ranging in age from infant through geriatric. I am also certified as a mental health integrative medicine provider.  My experience includes working with clients dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, family conflicts, life changes, adjustment disorder, anger management, life skills, career changes and enhancement, and parenting.

Sometimes events like transitions, trauma, loss, and adjustment to divorce or limited social support trigger difficulties. As a result, conflicts, depression, anxiety, emotional outbursts, academic decline, isolation, addiction or other risky behaviors can emerge. I support clients as they overcome these challenges. I believe in the capacity to grow, change, and move towards self-identified goals.
I believe in treating every person with respect and dignity. My approach is honest and open minded, seeing the counseling and coaching process as a collaborative one between myself and clients. This collaboration is based on the establishment of a safe and trusting relationship between counselor and client. From this foundation, we are able to explore social, emotional, and behavioral patterns so as to better understand the obstacles that are holding you back from living a full and meaningful life. I see it as my job to provide you with both support and challenge as you engage in the task of facing and addressing those obstacles.

My approach to both psychotherapy and coaching is integrative and focuses on the relationship between myself and my clients, incorporating meditation/mindfulness practices, self-acceptance, development of coping skills, and repairing relationships. I draw from many approaches, including evidence-based practices such as person-centered therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Child-parent psychotherapy. Over the years, I have found a therapeutic style that feels genuine and organic for me. Clients typically appreciate my genuine compassion, authenticity, safety, and humor.

Counseling and coaching take courage and I'm so glad you're here!

Casey Jenkins, M.Ed, Licensed Professional Counselor, NBCC

I am from East Tennessee and have been practicing mental health counseling for over a decade. I enjoy accompanying clients through transformations emotionally, physically and mentally.

I began an interest in counseling through my undergraduate work with refugee camps as I worked with those who had experienced significant trauma from early adolescence. My experiences taught me the gift clients have to be open and honest while being brave enough to self-advocate. I continued to specialize in trauma and adolescent development. I have since studied marital and relationship counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness and body scoring interventions along several other interventions and treatments.

My Approach in counseling is aimed at aligning with the Client’s desire and goals. I believe we, as wonderful human beings, know what we want, but often lack the tools to achieve our own goals. Through therapy and behavior modifications I believe we can allow all things to strengthen us.

Ashley Bateman, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

My name is Ashley Bateman and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker thru the state of Tennessee. I was born and raised in North Georgia but slowly moved my way towards East Tennessee after graduation. I attended Covenant College in Lookout Mtn, Georgia for undergrad where I earned two bachelor degrees, Psychology and Sociology. I then moved to Knoxville and completed my Masters in Social Work with a clinical focus from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2007 and was granted my license (LCSW) by the stated in 2009. I fell in love with East Tennessee with it’s beautiful mountains and culture so I have remained in this area.

I am a wife to a wonderful husband who was born and raised in East Tennessee and bleeds orange. We have three beautiful children. Our teenagers came to us through the state foster care system when they were ages 7 and 8 and we were privileged to adopt them about a year later. They are the strongest people I know! Our third child, who is a year old, was a complete surprise with no notice as she was unfortunately drug exposed in utero and removed from her birth mother prior to leaving the hospital. She is a relative’s child so we are currently Legal Guardian’s through the courts.

My background consists of working, developing, and supervising intensive services such as intensive in home, groups, and alcohol and drug and working in conjunction with Department of Children Services and the foster care system. My intensive work has been with children, adolescents, and their families but I have worked with all ages through outpatient counseling. I love working with birth parents, caregivers, foster/adoptive parents, and guardians.

I have training in social work and resourcing as well as a multitude of therapeutic interventions. The therapeutic modalities I utilize the most are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness approaches, and many Trauma focused treatments. I also have training and experience with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, play therapies, and Hypnotherapy.

Through my experience though, I’ve found the most important part of counseling/coaching is the relationship between the counselor and the client. You have to trust and be comfortable with me and I have to seek to understand you and your goals; otherwise, the relationship does not work. I strive to be genuine and compassionate while assisting in motivating you. You are the expert on you and I need to know you so I can walk alongside and assist you in reaching your goals. I can play the role of encouraging and empathetic or if preferred I can take a more engaging and active role. We all learn and function differently and I try to meet you where you are and assist in where you want to be.

I look forward to meeting you and working together!!
